About the Council of Australian Men’s Shed Associations Ltd

The Council of Australian Men’s Shed Associations Ltd (CAMSA) is a not for profit company limited by guarantee.

The guarantors are the member state associations who “own” and control CAMSA.

CAMSA is thus the national body representing state organisations of Men’s Sheds in Australia.

CAMSA is governed by a detailed constitution that protects the role of the state associations as owners of CAMSA.

CAMSA is run by a Board which represents the State Association members and a minority of “external” directors appointed for their individual expertise.

CAMSA is;

  • Registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (see ACNA.org.au)
  • Registered for GST
  • ABN 29 122 352 372

The organisation’s finances are audited every year.

CAMSA is the world’s longest-established Men’s Sheds association, incorporated 25th September 2006 under the name Mensheds Australia Ltd (MSA). MSA was completely revamped in 2019 to its current structure and renamed to reflect its new role in 2020.
